12 days + improvisation was the result of a set of handwritten instructions (and a meet-and-greet with the material in question and the curator) for the group exhibition ‘Instructions for…’ at The Little Machine, curated and enacted by the gallery curator, Eleen Deprez. The instructions were provided in response to a piece of Gyprock (plasterboard) which the artist wanted to remain at its ‘off-the-shelf’ dimensions and preferenced a reshaping of the material through its actions rather than a change in its form or condition. The series of improvisations resulted in a waltz, a group intervention of an architectural angle, a position of rest, a floor piece, among other events. The documentation was screened for the duration of the exhibition inside the gallery; a dialogue with the gallery and its bodies in motion.
